2012 Scholarship Winners

Cristian Garcia, Classical Guitarist, has just completed his last semester at El Camino College where has studied guitar for three years under John Dearman. He has won several competitions and has played in numerous solo recitals and ensemble groups. He was recently accepted into five different prestigious music schools for further study. He has chosen to attend the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.

Anzhela Kushnirenko, Vocalist, is a native of Ukraine and has dreamed her whole life of becoming a classical singer. At age 16, she was accepted to the Odessa Conservatory of Music but her family moved to the United States. She has now finished her studies at LA Harbor College. Her voice teachers are Byron Smith and Suzanne Aultz. She has been accepted for further study at Chapman University in the fall. Her goal is to become a professional opera singer.

Danielle Yungi Yi, Pianist, is a graduate of Palos Verdes High School and now attends El Camino College where she studies piano with Lois Roberts. She started studying piano at the age of five and violin at the age of twelve. She has extensive performing experience with both violin and piano and often serves as an accompanist. She has studied at the USC Thornton School of Music. Danielle plans to become a professor of piano to share her love of music with others.
