Renowned conductor Robert Shaw joined with orchestrator Robert Russel Bennett to create The Many Moods of Christmas, a medley of carols for choir and orchestra that remains a classic holiday collection to this day. We will surround this definitive work with an audience carol sing-along and other favorites by Rutter, Hairston, Esenvalkds, and many more. Joining the chorale as a special guest star is Aaron Blake, former scholarship winner and renowned Metropolitan Opera tenor.
Franz Joseph Hayden’s Harmoniemesse is the last and largest mass he composed. It is an energetic and playful work full of memorable melodies. John Rutter’s Requiem is a moving work that has become a standard, now performed the world over. These two masterpieces will provide an evening of introspection and celebration.
